Centenary
| Social Events:
The first social event to be organised by the new committee was the Scottish Night held on October 5th. The food was delicious and everyone who supported this evening had a really good night out. The profit made was £114 and this has been paid into the Centenary account. The fun night was held on Friday 2 November and included various "races" organised by Gibby Wood. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The first draw of the 100+ Club was made, and the winners are shown on the right. We still have some vacancies on the draw if anyone would like to join. On Friday 7 December, Graham Brain and his team organised a Quiz night. Based on the numbers attending the Gala Quiz, arrangements were made to accommodate some 40 teams. In the end only 10 teams turned up, but everyone enjoyed themselves. The winning team even included an ex Mastermind participant. The second draw of the100+ Club was made, and again, the winners can be seen on the right. Congratulations to all attending and winning. The third draw was made during the Bottle Bingo function on 27th December 2007. Congratulations to the three winners, and for those who didn't win, there's always next month. Friday 7th of March saw the long awaited Race Night. For the first time in a long time the club was full. Everyone enjoyed the entertainment with generosity being the flavour of the night, especially when it came to the third race when the horses were auctioned. The second prize in this race was won by Jimmy Taylor and his team, and they all agreed to donate their winnings to the Alzheimer charity - a very generous gesture - well done. The evening raised approximately £1500 for The Centenary Club Fund. Thanks to all who gave their money, and an especial thanks to Dusty Millar and his committee for a well-run and successful event. |

Matches & FixturesSecond Prize
Remember this is special eventsThird Prize for 2009 we are talking about, so although it is still a full season away, planning has begun.
It is hoped to have a fun match playing over, as near as possible, the original 9 hole Course. This may be introduced as soon as next year, so take part if you can and see what you think.
Another favourite is an Am-Am. This would be in the Centenary year - updates on this will follow over the coming months.
One date already in the diary is for the Moray & Nairn Handicap League Final. This will be on the fixture list in September 2009.
A fixture entitled “The Local Challenge “is to be organised– sounds interesting, we will keep you posted.
So as you can see plans have started but lots of work to do.
It is hoped that during the Centenary year, in addition to the normal trophies, winners of some competitions will receive a special Centenary award. We expect these to be strongly contested for. At this point in time we cannot say which competitions – it would be nice to say all, but it will depend of the finances of the Centenary Account nearer the time.
There will be items available in the Clubhouse Shop with the new Centenary logo by the middle of 2008. Hopefully there will be something that will appeal to all.
A special bottle of whisky is also on the shopping list but we will keep you updated on this as things progress.
